Lyon County, Iowa

Lyon County is the furthest northwest county in Iowa. It sits along the Rock and Big Sioux Rivers.

It is named for Nathanial Lyon, a General in the Mexican-American War.
The seat and largest city is Rock Rapids.

Main Highways include US-18, US-75 and IA-9.

It borders Osceola and Sioux Counties in Iowa, Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties in South Dakota, and Rock and Nobles Counties in Minnesota.
